How to convert PDF to JPG or PNG
Open a PDF, click Tools, then Convert, to export pages as PNG or JPG images.
Converted images preview in the viewer and can be downloaded individually.
Going the other way? Select images on the Dashboard and combine them into a single PDF.
Questions
- Should I choose PNG or JPG?
- PNG for pages that are mostly text, diagrams or screenshots — it is lossless, so text edges stay crisp. JPG for photographic pages, where it produces a much smaller file at a quality nobody notices.
- Will the text still be selectable in the image?
- No. An image has no text layer — that is inherent to any PDF-to-image conversion, not a limitation here. Keep the PDF if you need searchable text.
- Can I convert images back into a PDF?
- Yes. Select the images on the Dashboard and combine them into a single PDF, in the order you choose.
- How large a file can I use?
- Up to 100 MB per file, and up to 10 files in one upload.
- Do my files stay private?
- Yes. Your files are held in your own browser, not in an account on our servers. When a tool has to run server-side, the file is staged for the few seconds the operation takes and then deleted — everything is purged within an hour at the latest, automatically. We store no copies and nothing that identifies you.
